Ticketmaster and AXS companion tickets: how to get a free carer ticket

Both Ticketmaster UK and AXS let disabled customers book a free companion ticket alongside their own, but the rules depend on the venue. Here is how each one works, checked against their own help pages on 4 October 2026.

Ticketmaster UK

  • Free companion ticket: if you hold a UK Access Card with the +1 symbol, or are in another government companion scheme, you may get one free companion ticket when you buy a full-price ticket. Otherwise the companion ticket may have to be paid for.
  • How to book: open the event's seat map and choose Accessible Tickets (on the app, tap the wheelchair icon, then Filters). Have your companion card or number ready, as it is asked for at the time of booking. For some events you add the free companion ticket yourself under All Ticket Types.
  • Proof accepted: PIP or DLA letters, Carer's Allowance, a Blue Badge (both sides), sight loss registration, other benefit award letters, the Access Card with +1, or a letter from a GP or occupational therapist.
  • Timing: Ticketmaster may ask for your documents within 72 hours of booking. Send them within three weeks to keep the booking.
  • When the venue handles it: some venues ask you to book companion tickets through their own box office. If the seat map shows no accessible tickets, go to the venue or the main ticket seller.
  • Contact: Fan Support has an email form for accessibility questions and chat for existing orders.

AXS

  • Free companion ticket: AXS gives complimentary companion passes, booked as a pair: one accessible ticket and one companion ticket per order.
  • Quickest route: AXS works with Nimbus Disability. At the venues below you can enter your Access Card details, or a free AXS Digital Access Pass, on the event page and book accessible tickets straight away.
  • Without an Access Card: book first, then AXS emails a secure upload link within five working days. Accepted proof includes a PIP award (first page only), the front page of a DLA or Attendance Allowance letter at any rate, a Certificate of Vision Impairment, the Access Card with +1, or a War Disablement Pension letter. Send it by the deadline in the email, usually at least four weeks before the event.
  • When the venue handles it: for some shows you book with the venue directly, and AXS says so before tickets go on sale.
  • Contact: live chat from the help centre, plus an online form outside chat hours.

The Access Card makes both easier

The Nimbus Access Card costs £15 for three years. Its +1 symbol shows you need someone with you, and both Ticketmaster and AXS can read it online, so you skip sending documents for each booking. See where the Access Card gets you a carer ticket.
